A rewarding role in many ways
When you join 2gether you will automatically become a member of the NHS pension scheme. We will contribute approximately 14 percent of your salary to your pension scheme each year when you contribute to your pension. You will get further details of this when you join the Trust.
Upon joining the NHS for the first time, a full-time member of staff will have 35 days leave per year, including eight bank holidays. If you don’t work full-time hours, this will be prorated depending on the amount of hours you work. This allowance will increase following five years’ service to 29 days’ leave per year and 10 years’ service to 33 days’ leave per year, plus bank holidays.
Salary sacrifice schemes
Salary sacrifice enables you to exchange part of your salary for a non-cash benefit.
This reduces the amount of income tax and National Insurance you pay on your salary, as well as the National Insurance contributions your employer makes.
We offer Trust colleagues three different salary sacrifice schemes. These are:
The childcare vouchers scheme is run by Kiddivouchers. These vouchers can be used for children up to the age of 16 years and can be used to cover a wide range of childcare needs and services. The vouchers can reduce the cost of childcare by as much as £933 per year (double this if both parents work for the Trust).
Car salary sacrifice
Our car salary sacrifice scheme is run by a company called Tusker, which has extensive experience in providing this service to NHS Trusts across the country. It gives the option to choose a vehicle via the scheme website and then pay for the vehicle via salary sacrifice, and save money at the same time.
Cycle to Work scheme
This scheme is open to all permanent employees subject to national minimum wage requirements and enables you to purchase a bicycle of your choice with significant savings. The Trust is working with ‘Cyclescheme’ which is the UK’s number one provider of tax-free bikes, under the Government’s Cycle to Work initiative. You can make big savings on your purchase of a new bike, and improve your health at the same time.
The staff lottery is the opportunity for staff to win cash prizes for as little as £1 per month. The money is deducted from your salary on a monthly basis and there are prizes each month, including cash prizes ranging from £500 to £1,000.
